Hi, I’m Sodium! I’m a 29 year old MMJ patient. I’ve been smoking off and on for years, but I’ve never been able to truly appreciate the medicinal properties of marijuana until I was diagnosed with chronic pain. A 6 year struggle with doctors, specialists and a whole lotta meds led me to doing research on alternative medicine and taking matters into my own hands to handle my pain. Now I take only one medicine, and it does more for me than any pill that was ever prescribed to me. I’m hoping some info I post on this site can help people that are in the same situation I was. Along with a love for the herb, I’ve been a geek for as long as I can remember. I love video games and Chuck Pahlaniuk. I’m a little hungry. I think I’m going to make a sandwich.

I know exactly what you mean. After years of one pill or another (that usually ended up causing other problems) I gave up and started experimenting with the medicinal side of marijuana. I'd already known it helped with migraines but didn't know how well it would be for chronic pain. So I tried various ways of using Cannabis and what amounts I needed for different things. Although I'm still in the process (compounding my experiments now with different strains), I KNOW it works. The side effects? Alleviation of a chronic viral disease. I discussed this with the doctor when I went in to get my MMJ authorization. He said this was because, during my personal experimentation, I'd been putting the raw bud under my tongue. Raw Cannabis, he explained, acts as an antiviral and antibacterial in the body. He suggested, in addition or alternative to the buds, that I try a tincture. I haven't (yet), as the buds have been doing me good in that area. All in all, the narcotics and antibiotics have gone out the window.
Having been a product of the Nancy Reagan years, it's SO AWESOME to see this finally happening. And look what it's creating…caring people wanting to help other people! Trust me, keep doing what you're doing and many people WILL benefit from your experience.
